Sequoia Nation Princess Program

Building Memories That Last Two Lifetimes

A Nation of the Algonquin Longhouse
Serving Northbrook and Palatine

About the Program

The Sequoia Nation Princesses program provides girls and their fathers with opportunities to become real friends by sharing enjoyable experiences, observing and learning about one another, and developing mutual respect. We believe that by investing a little time with your child now, you may build a relationship that will last two lifetimes!

Princess “Tribes” consist of a group of families living in the same area, enabling you and your child to create lasting friendships and building your community. Monthly meetings and other fun “Nation” events emphasize the important role that parents play in the growth and development of their children. Dads also benefit by forming connections with their neighbors!

Our Events

Camping is at the heart of our season. We do three Nation campouts a year – Fall (tents), Winter (cabins) and Spring (tents). The girls – and dads! – are encouraged to try new things and share new experiences, building friendships and memories. Canoeing, hiking, dance parties, games, giant fires, sunshine, rain, snow — it’s all part of the adventure!

In addition to monthly meetings, the Princesses try to do a fun excursion every month, everything from racing cardboard boats to cleaning up a local forest.

We are driven by values

  • To be clean in body and pure in heart
  • To be friends forever with my Dad / Daughter
  • To love the sacred circle of my family
  • To be attentive when others speak
  • To love my neighbor as myself
  • To seek and preserve the beauty of the Great Spirit’s work, in forest, field and stream.

“We joined the Princess Program simply because my daughters wanted to go camping. What I didn’t expect was how deeply it would impact all of us.

WILL SHERWOOD, CHIRPING CARDINAL

“Princesses is fun because you can do almost anything—and the dads mostly say yes.”

SAMI MORGAN, GOLDEN FOX

Side by side, we grew—braver, closer, and forever connected.”
